Definition of Foreign Policy :
Foreign
policy is a set of goals about how country will work with other
countries economically, politically, socially and militarily, military
alliances and war. It is the direction a country takes in its foreign
relations decided by the political leadership.
Objectives of Foreign Policy :
The
objectives of foreign policy is designed preserve the national interest
of a state. There are many objectives of foreign policy which may vary
from country to country. Some common objectives of foreign policy are
given below :
Self Preservation : It ensures the sovereignty and territorial integrity and security of the country.
Economic development : Promoting economic advancement international cooperation and assistance so that so that communities have access to goods, services and employment opportunities.
National Interest : Ensuring that the country’s interests are prioritized in international relations.
National Dignity : Enhancing the country’s reputation and standing in the global arena.
National Ideology : Upholding and promoting the nation’s core values and beliefs in the international context.
These
objectives reflect the broader goals that guide a country’s
interactions with other nations and international organizations.
